Health Through the Years: Adult & Geriatric Wellness

Caring for our elders and supporting adults through every stage of life is at the heart of family medicine. As we age, our health priorities naturally evolve, making dedicated, proactive care essential for maintaining independence, mobility, and quality of life.

My approach to adult and elder care focuses on viewing the whole person, rather than managing conditions in isolation. Whether navigating complex chronic issues like joint pain, diabetes, and hypertension, or focusing on preventive health and lifestyle strategies, I aim to provide care that honors each individual's goals and personal values.

Respecting our elders and learning from their wisdom is a core principle shaped by my upbringing on the Seneca Allegany reservation and my time in community care in Hawaii. I view elder care as a shared journey—working closely with patients, families, and caregivers across Western New York to ensure our older community members receive the compassionate, dignified care they deserve.

FAQs

What is DeBoy Family Medicine?

DeBoy Family Medicine is the personal practice brand of Dr. DeBoy, a resident physician with the University of Hawaii Family Medicine Residency Program (UHFMRP). This website is a space to share my approach to patient-centered care and connect with individuals and families seeking a dedicated primary care physician.

What is OMT?

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) is a hands-on, drug-free approach where your doctor uses a variety of gentle techniques – such as stretching, direct pressure, and mobilization – to diagnose and treat imbalances in your body's muscles, joints, and soft tissues.
The goal of OMT is to restore proper body mechanics, reduce pain, and enhance your body's natural ability to heal. Many patients appreciate OMT because it can provide immediate, noticeable relief right in the office, helping them feel better and move more freely before they even leave. By addressing the root cause of your discomfort, OMT can be a powerful way to alleviate common issues like neck and back pain, headaches, joint stiffness, and muscle spasms, often reducing the need for medication and supporting your overall well-being.

How do I schedule an appointment with Dr. DeBoy?

To schedule a new patient appointment, please call the University of Hawaii Family Medicine Residency Program clinic directly and speak to one of our wonderful Patient Service Representatives at (808) 627-3200.
